Unemployment in Greece falls sharply |
| Greece's unemployment rate fell to 7.9% in July 2026, down from 8.9% a year earlier, according to the Labour Force Survey by the Hellenic Statistical Authority (ELSTAT). The number of unemployed decreased by 45,192 to 376,508, marking a 10.7% drop from July 2025. Women's unemployment fell to 10.4%, while men's dropped to 5.9%. Youth unemployment also saw a significant decline, reaching 16.8%. The total number of employed individuals rose to 4,379,823, an increase of 1% from the previous year. |
